It never fails, I need to fire up VirtualBox to do something in Windows and I get a dialog box about it not being able to find the right driver. I know exactly what the problem is — the kernel was upgraded and the VirtualBox network drivers are out of date — I just always forget what to do about it, so I have to search for 15 minutes to 1/2 an hour to find somebody who wrote down the procedure.
I’m writing it down this time for when it eventually happens again. Then I can reference this post (if I remember I wrote it) and be back up and running in a few minutes rather than a half an hour.
Run this from the command line:
sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
